Welcome to the Celebrating Parents Blog Hop!
You must be here from the amazingly talented Kristina Pokazanieva blog. If not then you can begin at the Altenew blog.
We are sending out cards to the elderly that live in nursing homes or shelters to let them know we care.
You can read up all about the Card Drive HERE.
It's an awesome cause!!
20% of the profits earned from these stamp sets (Best Dad, Best Mom, Penned Rose and Extra Special) by 6/18/2017 will be donated to Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need.
Let's start with the cards!
This is my favourite card! LOOK at that blue and all the awesome images!
I used the Best Dad stamp set for my card. All the pieces have been diecut using the coordinating die (thank God I had the dies! )
The images have been coloured using Prismacolors. For the background I used distress stains.
I also added glossy accents to all the "Blue" parts.
Here is another view.
I made another card using the same stamp set.
For this card I repeatedly stamped the Best Dad mug with versamark and heat embossed it in white.
I then did the smooshing technique. I didn't stop with the smooshing.
I went in again with the distress stains to colour my mugs so that they would stand out more.
This looks super grungy and really fun.
I diecut the word "DAD" using Bold Alphabet Die Set four times, layered them up and added glossy accents to it. I also diecut some stars that are part of this stamp set.
Now it's mum's turn!
Most of you know by now I do love to add silver and gold any chance I get and black and gold combination is my go to choice for everything!
So I decided to make a black & gold card for a classy mum.
I repeatedly stamped the Best Mom floral vine to build my background in versamark and gold heat embossed it.
This looks SO GOOD in person, it didnt come out great in photos though.
The "Mum" is die cut out of Bold Alphabet using Gold Mirror cardstock. I layered it four times to make them into chipboard alphas.
The gold glitter border you see is the Glitter Tape.
I added some gold splatters to my card base.
I also added tiny cup sequins as my flower centers!
Can you see them? They look so pretty!
On to my last card for today.
For my last mum's card I heat embossed the Penned Rose stamp set on watercolour paper.
After watercolouring I die cut all the pieces using the coordinating die for this set.
For my front panel I added some black paint splatters and stamped my sentiment before placing the floral arrangement.
I have popped up all the die cut pieces on different levels to add interest and more dimension.
The thin silver glitter border you see is the Glitter Tape.
Your next stop is the awesome Barb Engler

Hello and welcome to our second Build-A-Flower release!
Our flower of the month is Aster and here is what it looks like.
|Click on the photo to take you to the store!|
As you all know by now that Altenew will be releasing a flower stamp plus die combo every month on the 15th. This will be available as a combo only and not separately.
Here is what I came up with.
For my first card, I did a bit of masking and stamped the flower and leaves to build a border.
I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed it in white.
The cardstock I used is close to Sea Glass and is one from the New Day Card Kit.
I used Artist Markers Set A to colour my flowers and leaves.
Started off with Sea Glass and then to add more depth I coloured in with Dusk Artist Marker.
I then went back in with Spica glitter pen to add tons of sparkle.
I don't know if you can see it, but here is a closeup.
On to my second card which again is fairly simple.
I heat embossed the flowers and leaves in white again on watercolour paper.
I watercoloured the leaves and flowers very loosely.
After the images were dry I diecut them and placed them on a watercoloured panel.
I stuck all images on different levels using foam tape.
Stamped the sentiment on a plain white strip and popped it over the cluster.
For my final card I went for a more grungy, loose watercolour look.
I did a bit of masking and stamped my flower on the front panel, heat embossed it in gold.
I added a lot of water to the entire front panel and began dropping different shades of blue watercolour focusing mainly on the flowers but not really worrying if the colour dropped outside the lines too.
I love the sentiments on this stamp set and I wanted to highlight them, so I picked out one and heat embossed it in gold on black cardstock. I added a thin strip of Gold Glitter Tape to one border.
Added some gold string and popped my sentiment tab over it using foam tape.
I also added some gold splatters to my front panel.
So there you go!
Three different looks using one stamp set.
Please leave a comment to let me know if you liked the cards, it would mean a lot.
Also, don't forget to leave a comment over at the Altenew blog for a chance to win one of the THREE gift certificates they are offering!

Here is what I have to share today.
I chose the newly released Springtime Azalea stamp set and did no-line watercolouring.

The sentiment is from the Floral Shadow stamp set.
It's a fairly simple card. I added a few sequins that I got from Dress My Craft store and added tons of sparkle using my Spica glitter pen.

We have a brand new challenge over at Papericious.
The theme is "Add a Shaker Element".
I used Mom to Be paper pack and chipboard elements (Moroccan Lattice + Themed Chipboard- The Wedding) for my card.
Here is what I made.
First I treated the paper with gesso and added glitter to it for some sparkle and gritty texture.
I then added a bit of yellow watercolour.
I painted the chipboard elements with Picket Fence and applied a bit of gesso to some parts to give it a grungy look.
After I was done with my floral arrangement I added tons of white acrylic paint splatters.
I added seed beads to my chipboard "you" and made it into a shaker element.
I also covered my very yellow, store bought flowers with diluted white paint and glitter so this is a very sparkly card :)
That is all from my side today.
I hope you guys liked my card.
Love and hugs,

I have to tell you that Altenew Tape Runner is my new best friend!
I used it on all the cards I am sharing today. It really helped me immensely to stick all the tiny diecut pieces without any hassle.
Now on to the projects!
Featuring the Inline Alpha Dies:
I heat embossed the images from Spring Daisy stamp set and watercoloured my background.
I formed the word Congrats using the newly release Inline Alpha Dies.
The gold glitter strip at the bottom is the Altenew Glitter Tape.
Here is a closeup.
Featuring the Cityscape Cover Die A and
With these dies you really don't have to do much.
Layered them up and glued the leftover pieces from the gold cardstock to make my gold windows.
Sentiment is from Sentiments & Quotes stamp set.
Featuring the Layered Floral Cover Die A
This card has three layers. The first layer is Layered Floral Cover Die A which I diecut using white cardstock and covered it with holographic glitter!
Second layer is Layered Floral Cover Die B for which I used watercolours to add colour.
The third layer is my base layer, I embossed this layer using the die and a tan mat to make a guide (to colour). I added darker tones of the same watercolours I used on the first layer.
I decided to not add any sentiment to my card front, I really didnt want to cover the pretty front!
I made a few cards using the New Day Card Kit as well. Here is a photo to show you whats included in the kit.
Card Kit contains:
Thirty four cardstock die cuts
Six 8.5x11 inch cardstock (Made in UK)
Forty eight 6x6 inch pattern paper sheets (two of each design)
Two alphabet sticker sheets
12 wood veneer frames
6x8 inch photopolymer clear stamp set (Made in USA)
One gold glitter tape
Frame die, hearts and stars die
Enamel dots and hearts (4x6 inch sheet)
The pattern papers are GORGEOUS!!!
They have this watercolour theme and it looks absolutely beautiful.
For my projects I picked out the blues and greens by chance.
The projects are pretty simple and self explanatory.
Here are the cards separately.
That's all folks! Hope you liked the projects.
Next stop on the hop is my favourite girl Virginia Lu!
In case you get lost, I have added a complete hop list below!
